Stopped in late on a Friday night as we were driving up north. Was surprised we were able to get a table with under a 10 minute wait. Stuck with appetizers since we still had 3 hours on the road. Korean bbq tacos and ceviche tostados. Both were excellent. Great location, great vibe. Very busy. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Great for special occasions.
Excellent food. Wonderful setting. Superb service. But seriously overpriced. Thankfully, we had a $25 gift certificate that brought the price down a bit, but the only way we'd go back would be if someone else was treating us to dinner.
Crab cakes are filled with crab, and they didn't fall apart, which is very difficult--even for seasoned chefs. It's paired well with the fried tomatoes and vegetables. They get their bread from the bakery down the street, and it is so good with the dipping oil! They have a variety of seasonal entrees and this time they had the elk, which is kind of a cross between beef and deer meat. It was well cooked at medium rare. While it is quite expensive, the meals are cooked with notable skill.
Special occasion birthday dinner! The man and I started with the Poke appetizer- which was reminiscent of the Big Island Hawaii fare. Fresh! Our server was attentive and timely for each course, refills and requests- she was top-notch. The ambience is rustic American with a mix of patrons coming casual to some dressy. We were able to conduct a conversation without needing to yell - but it was loud enough not to overhear others. We finished with a decadent dessert with a fantastic wine pairing. We will come back for another special occasion.
Great food, great service, their steaks were probably the best I've had in the area and the atmosphere is so cozy. And the crab dip was really good! Definitely recommend.
Graduated from LCHS, moved away for college, and moved back and worked here in the early nineties when I was in my twenties. Hadn't been back since. I was in Herndon at a work HQ meeting, which is weird when I live 2400 miles away, and I had to visit my old stomping grounds. Needless to say, Leesburg is all grown up! Tripled in population and I can't find anything except the McDonald's and the old Pizza Hut building. I was so sorry to hear about the passing of the owner. I remember him interviewing me back then, and he was kind, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable. Anyway... dinner. Place looks the same. Still an old mill turned restaurant. The same griffons on the light fixtures, and a dark atmosphere unless you're in the garden room area. Seated promptly- we had reservations. Server Maria----smart, friendly, liked my story, checked in frequently. Started with a glass of their Super Tuscan, spouse had an old fashioned. Salad special of mixed greens, tomato, walnuts, burrata cheese-- we split. App --Pork belly tacos were a little sweet for me but that didn't keep us from finishing them LOL. Entrees were pork tenderloin - I wanted the onions cooked more and the pork belly less smokey, but the tenderness of the pork gives it an 8 out of 10. Spouse's scallops and beef tenderloins he called a 9 out of 10. (Just wish it hadn't been called Surf and Turf on the check... sounded like a cheap steakhouse). Dessert was bread pudding -- fantastic. And a bourbon pecan pie I found too chocolatey and bourbon-y to my liking. But we did box it up to try again later. Service 10:10. Food 9:10. No photos!
Met a friend for brunch - yes, I highly recommend having a reservation. We both opted for the buffet and I enjoyed it so much I only took a photo of my first plate. Everything was delicious and they were constantly replenishing dishes at the buffet. I'm not a huge fan of shrimp and grits, but loved these. Our waiter was so thoughtful - The sun was shining on our table and melting the ice in our beverages so he brought us cups of ice! The space is packed with tables making it a little bit difficult to maneuver to/from the buffet, but otherwise a great option for Sunday brunch!
Amazing meal. From start to finish. Our sever Danielle was equally impressive. STARTERS - we had the Crispy Curry Oysters and Beef Fondue. WOW. 2 of the best Apps we've ever had. A hint of curry and sweetness that complimented the oysters and the Beef was incredibly tender with outstanding Blue cheese fondue MAIN - the Pork Ribeye was absolutely delicious !!! So tender and cooked perfectly. It didn't need the sauce but that was really good as well. The Fennel & Apples with bits of smoked pork belly topped off the dish. I'd go out of my way for this. My wife ordered the Salmon and that was incredible as well. Thank you Tuskies for making our Celebratory meal absolutely awesome. Can't wait to come back for any meal !!!
This place is amazing for brunch! I had never been here prior to the random brunch my girlfriend and I stopped in for. Wow was I missing out on a great place. The food was pretty much all amazing. It was buffet style and there were plenty of options. They had an omelette station where they make it on order for you with whatever ingredients you want. The steak station next to that was also great. The buffet had fried chicken, vegetables, pasta salad, French toast, bacon, sausage gravy, and more! Definitely had something for everyone. The dessert station was also very good. The bread pudding was the best! I don't eat a lot of bread pudding and even I wanted to go back for more. The service was good. We didn't see our waiter much but we did the buffet so it made sense. The staff were very helpful and friendly in telling us about the buffet and how to get seated. The ambiance is a little bit older and divey. It definitely feels like a neighborhood restaurant and not a chain restaurant. It had lots of decorations and felt like an old mill so it was nice that they kept the aesthetic. Overall would recommend this place. There's a parking lot nearby and a parking garage across the street. Give it a try if you haven't.
